I moved to June Lake when I was about 2 years old. My mom, Marie Sanders, worked for Bud Hayward during the 70's. She was friends with Jane and Maynard Jenkins and I clearly remember the day that Bill had his accident. So very sad.

I love seeing these old photos of June. So many memories and so much fun.

I was born and raised in HB and Billy Jenkins was one of my boyhood heroes. I was a ball boy for the Oiler football teams in the late 60s and early 70s. My dad, Vern, was a FB coach at HBHS in the late 50s and became a vice principal there, spending a total of 38 years at HB. My eventual father in law, Bill Garland, also taught and coached at HBHS and had Billy in class. I had the pleasure as a young teen to meet Maynard in Bishop as my dad knew him. I have been skiing June since 1969 and still make several trips annually with my family. Definitely a special place, and was stoked to find these pictures. Thanks, Mark (and Dave!) for sharing them!
