#57: 4th of July Weekend at June Lake
Roma and I spent part of the holiday around June Lake and it was a fantastic weekend.
There was lots of people and heavy traffic which is great for the area. They were on the road and in the water. They were fishing, swimming and taking photos. There were hikers and bikers around too.
We should have more holiday weekends for everyone to enjoy.

Here is Horsetail Falls. It flows from Gem and Agnew Lakes into Silver Lake. There is a lot of water flowing from there right now.
Here is Gull Lake. The red tree in the middle has a rope swing and there were so many kids on the swing that we couldn’t keep track of them. There were boats surrounding it, watching the kids. They take the rope up into the bushes on the hill and launch out into the lake.
Below are different angles of Carson Peak.
Here is June Mountain with Carson Peak to the right. The chairlift was running and people were taking scenic rides up Chair 1 to the lodge.
I took this picture as we were driving by. Traffic was so heavy that we didn’t have much time to stop. Roma and I used to ski that little chute right behind the traffic-control sign. It brings back memories.
This is on the Scenic Loop near Oh! Ridge.
This is an old house near Mustang Mesa on the way back to Bishop. It was probably from an early settler working near the rock quarry.

It seems like a good time to visit all the falls this time a year. Are the falls really grand?
