A few weeks ago some family came to Bishop to visit Roma and me and we had an exciting couple of days. We went out into the White Mountains, to Mono Lake and Adobe Meadows, and up into the Buttermilk area.
But before all of those adventures, Poncho, Penny and I went up into the Bishop Basin in the truck for some shots of the valley before the fall colors set in.
We caught the sunset just right and found some amazing reflections from the mountains above Sabrina.
We even saw a bald eagle soaring above the lake, presumably looking for fish.
Read along and enjoy. The fall colors are really here right now so it’s the time to get out. I’m going to take Roma up to Sabrina to scout it out in the next few days.

This is a really great set of pictures Dave. You have some beautiful work with light and clouds going on along with a diversity of subjects. These are very interesting, beautiful and fun photos to look at. Isn’t it great to just go out and be able to see all these wonderful sights right in your own ‘back yard’! You show a lot of love for the Eastern Sierra – that’s what I feel too. Thanks for being kind enough to create all of this photographic work and share it all with us. It makes me feel like I’m right where I love to be even though I’m on the other side of the country!
