#271: An Afternoon around Mammoth, Crowley, Hot Creek and the Owens River

Roma and I picked up Penny in Mammoth a few days ago, and decided to go for a ride out towards the Owens River on Hot Creek Road on the way back.

We saw a lot of cattle, some hot places to swim, and a windsurfer enjoying a breezy afternoon on Crowley.

That’s all for today. There’s another set of pictures from Randy and Mickey Short on the way.

This is another set of wonderful pictures. I’ve never made it out to Hot Creek Road. On my next trip to Bishop I’ll be sure to have some fun checking it out.

A small Hello from France.
So go see on Google Map, in research zone, writing “Mammoth Mountain”. It is possible to see the mammoth Mountain in satellite mode. This is a great show. The ski slopes, the chairs, T-Bar, the constructions (Minaret Rd, Main Lodge, Mammoth Mountain Inn, Dry Creek Bar, Yodler Restaurant …) Everything is there !!!!
Bye.

Oh man, that brings back some memories. The Hole-in-the-rock! I forgot all about that… on the way to hot creek. As kids we’d be so excited to see that, we knew we were getting close. No parking lot, fences, trail, bridge… nothing, well there was a dirt area to pull out, and a single wide dirt trail to the hot creek.

And then the pics out at Owens and Crowley… beautiful. I loved (much later in my Mammoth life) fishing or even tubing the Owens.

Thanks so much!
Jeff
