A few months ago, Vicki called us about bringing her husband Norm out from the Bay Area to see what we are up to here.
They like to have the same kind of fun that we do, so we decided to get into some trouble together.
Along with their friends Mitch and Susan, who came in from Southern California for the day, we had a great Rhino ride to the top of Bishop Basin and the Buttermilks.
We started out on the flats near the house so that everybody could get comfortable on the Rhinos, and then headed towards the Buttermilk climbing area. We stopped along the way to check out the sea lion and ET in the rocks. If you don’t about them, you will when you see the pictures below.
Then we went to the Buttermilk waterfall which is always exciting for first-timers. Next, we headed towards the aspen grove at the top of the basin and had lunch in the aspens at the base of Basin Mountain.
We came back along the rocky trail above Bishop Creek where we saw a family of deer. We got back to the bottom just before dusk and just in time to cheer on the racers in the high school cross country meet that was ending as we pulled in.
We don’t want to speak for them, but I think they had a great time. The weather was perfect, the colors on the aspens were fantastic and the company couldn’t have been better.
Thanks again, and thanks to Vicki and Norm again for the flowers!
